Jorge Garaje

Spain

Spanish artist and industrial designer Jorge Garaje (Guadalajara, 1991) is, by his own definition, an "objector of ideas": not only capable of materializing them in objects, but also of questioning them through his pieces. With this approach, he endows his work with a marked irreverent character that is not exempt from care for the raw material and attention to the craft process, fundamental in his pieces. After studying Fine Arts and Engineering in Industrial Design, he graduated from the Superior School of Design in Madrid, the city where he lives and develops his professional performance. He combines his work in teaching, (he has been a professor at the Istituto Europeo di Design, in addition to giving lectures for other centers and universities); with his profession as a lighting designer in a well-known multinational. His work has been endorsed by industry publications at a global level, and has been exhibited at MoMA PS1, CentroCentro in Madrid and the Spanish Embassy in Paris, among others; as well as used in various audiovisual and film projects.
